What is Odysseus?

Odysseus is a free, browser-based facial analysis tool powered by MediaPipe AI. It detects 478 facial landmarks in any front-facing photo, measures your interpupillary distance (IPD) and monocular PD in millimetres, and computes 12 aesthetic facial ratios — all without sending your image to any server.

Metrics measured

IPD & monocular PD — essential for eyeglass fitting; measured via iris-width calibration (11.7 mm average iris diameter)
Midface ratio — IPD divided by the distance from the midpoint of the pupils to the top lip
Facial width-to-height ratio (fWHR) — bizygomatic width over face height; average 1.80–2.05
Chin / philtrum ratio — lower-face vertical balance; ideal range 2.0–2.3
Canthal tilt — upward or downward slant of the eye corners; ideal 3–7° for males
Mouth-to-nose ratio — mouth width relative to nose width; ideal 1.38–1.55
Eye separation ratio (ESR) — IPD over bizygomatic width; Pollet et al. ideal ~46%
Jaw / cheekbones ratio — bigonial over bizygomatic width; masculine ideal 70–75%
Lip ratio — lower lip height over upper lip height; ideal 1.4–2.0

How it works

Upload a front-facing, well-lit photo (or use your webcam). MediaPipe's FaceLandmarker model — running entirely in your browser via WebAssembly — places 478 landmarks on your face. You can drag any point to correct the AI. Every measurement updates instantly. When you're satisfied, export a detailed JSON report or an annotated PNG.

Privacy

Your photo is processed entirely on your own device. No image, landmark data, or measurement is ever sent to a server. There is no account, no tracking, no cloud.

Score and tips are indicative: reference canons are culturally biased and do not measure your worth. Always put health first; for any medical procedure, consult a professional. Accuracy depends on framing and lighting.
